Therapy for Anxiety

When your mind won’t switch off

Anxiety can make it difficult to feel fully present in your own life.

Maybe you replay conversations long after they happen, imagine everything that could go wrong, second-guess your decisions, or feel responsible for preventing problems before they happen. You might put pressure on yourself to make the right choice, struggle with uncertainty, or feel like you can’t relax until everything is under control.

Anxiety can also show up in your body through tension, restlessness, difficulty sleeping, a racing heart, or a persistent feeling that something isn’t quite right.

Sometimes these responses make more sense when we understand what they’ve been trying to do for us. Worry, planning, vigilance, or control may have helped you feel prepared or protected at another point in your life.

How I Can Help

We can work on practical ways to manage anxiety while also becoming curious about what may be driving it.

Together, we might explore the thoughts and beliefs that keep anxiety going, the situations that trigger it, how you respond when it appears, and the experiences that may have shaped the way you relate to uncertainty or control.

Depending on what you need, our work may draw from CBT, mindfulness, nervous-system awareness, and other approaches.

The goal isn’t necessarily to never feel anxious, but to develop a different relationship with anxiety so it doesn’t have to make every decision for you.
