Therapy for Depression
When you don’t feel like yourself
Depression isn’t just simply sadness.
Sometimes it feels like exhaustion, numbness, irritability, or a loss of interest in things you used to care about. You might feel disconnected from other people, struggle to motivate yourself, question what the point of things is, or feel like you’re watching your life happen without really participating in it.
Other times, it’s less about feeling depressed and more about feeling stuck. You know you’re unhappy with something, but you don’t know what you want instead. You may feel caught between wanting things to change and not having the energy or clarity to change them.
How I Can Help
Therapy can give us space to understand what your experience of depression or disconnection looks like rather than assuming it means the same thing for everyone.
Together, we can explore what has been happening in your life, the patterns and experiences that may be contributing to how you feel, and what you may have become disconnected from along the way.
We can also work with the practical side of depression by finding manageable ways to reconnect with daily life, relationships, activities, and parts of yourself that matter to you.
It’s okay if you don’t know exactly what you want your life to look like before we begin. We will start by understanding where you are right now.
